Like the other books in the Minisiers "World of Ds9" this book contained two distinct stories by different authors, and one was significantly better than the other. in this case the Story by DeCandio about Ferginar was fantastic. The descriptions about the world seldom seen on T.V. was great the story of Quark trying to once again weasel his way into the Negus's favor, why still standing by the idea that Rom is an idiot is hilarious. The "relationship" between he and Ro Lauren develops well and is worth 5 stars on its own.

Unlike the others in the series the less good story is not horrible. George is getting better, but he went from one extreme to the other. The last "re-launch" title he wrote had like 90 chapters in it, this one has only 7. The story focuses mostly off site at the new "changeling home-world" The …

The story focuses mostly off site at the new "changeling home-world" The descriptions of the changeling lifestyle outside of being as a solid leave something to be imagined, and that imagination didn't do well for me. Also, some of the ideas don't seem quite in line with what we know of the Changelings from T.V. such as the founders having belief in their own god. The secondary story focuses back in the alpha quadrant and mostly on the station is where the real interest is, certainly they are setting us up for a T'arnatar focused story to come, one that the relaunch serious desperately needs. At least twice we are led to believe that one of beloved characters dies, do they? Well, I won't let that out, and I'm not sure if George does either. This story probably deserves a 3 on its own, leading the book to a 4 star.
